Excerpt one:

Your life is full of love from the person you've waited for all of your young life. You want for nothing because you now have Michael Canon. If being in the right place at the right time can be construed as the ultimate advantage in life, you are there. However, what if you were in the right place at the wrong time and you see something that you shouldn't? Why are you suddenly thrown into a world of slow motion as you try and escape? There are no sounds, no feeling, no visual distortions, only a tunnel that is beginning to close slowly at the other end. You are an eyewitness to a Mafia hit. The assassins see you trying to run and now you are their next target.

Excerpt two:

A black limousine stopped at the gates of the Vencenti mansion. The gates to the Mafia stronghold swung open and it proceeded to the main house. Tony Sarino got out, followed by two of Vincenti's men.
"Antonio, it's good to see you, please sit."
"Hi Uncle Angelo, is everything all right? You're not sick or anything, are you?"
"No, I'm fine. It's you that I'm worried about."
    "Uncle, I feel fine."
"Antonio, you have gotten yourself into a lot of trouble. Tell me about the Sheridan hotel."
"I go there once in a while."
"Antonio, slow down and select your answers very carefully. You know what I'm talking about."
"Well, the boys and I had a little trouble, but nothing to worry about. Why all the questions?"
"A man has come to town to find you. A very important man. He knows you were involved with the shooting and he's looking for you."
"What man? Should I be scared of a single man? Hey, I'm from the family and we're not afraid of any man," Tony said as he stood up. "He doesn't scare me, I'll handle him."
"Antonio, sit down. Show some respect," Angelo yelled.
"Okay, I'm sitting. I meant no disrespect, Uncle Angelo."
"You must go away. Maybe I can handle this but I don't know how yet."
"You sound like you're afraid of him."
"Yes, and you should be too," Angelo yelled, as he slapped his hand on the table. "Michael Canon is the most dangerous man on the face of God's earth once he's provoked."
